Who we are and what we do?

Life Education is a charitable trust that delivers a health programme to children in preschool, primary and intermediate schools. We build self-esteem and teach children the marvel of the human body so they can make informed decisions and lead a healthy life. The Marlborough Trust is completely locally funded, and all funds raised stay within our community.

Life Education in the Marlborough region

Since commencing in May 2006, Marlborough’s mobile classroom has visited some 99% of the primary and intermediate schools in the Marlborough region, including Rai Valley, the Marlborough Sounds, Kaikoura, and in 2010 we extended into the Hurunui region. In Marlborough, our programme is dependent on the support of a small but vital group of local sponsors whose contributions by way of funding services help us deliver the programme to schools at a highly subsidised rate so that all pupils have the opportunity to attend.

The Five Buck a Duck Derby

It's Blenheim's most exciting duck race, raising funds for Life Ed Marlborough. This year the ducks have a new race track... through Pollard Park! Purchase online via www.bit.ly/fivebuckaduck (booking fee applies) or get yours from MTF Finance Blenheim or Stihl Shop Blenheim (cash only).

Help us raise funds for Life Education Trust Marlborough by purchasing a duck, and if your duck places 1st you win $500 cash thanks to Eva and the team at MTF Finance Blenheim.

3rd place - $100 Quench Restaurant voucher

Ducks are $5 each with all proceeds to Life Education Trust Marlborough, a charity that supports tamariki and rangatahi to grow up happy and healthy, making positive choices.

Mr Whippy, Hazbeanz Mobile Espresso and a fundraising BBQ for the Marlborough Redcross Disaster Welfare Support Team will be there too so come join us for the fun and watch up to 700 yellow ducks race through Pollard Park! We’ll be set up near the playground at Pollard Park from 10.30am on Sunday 5th May, where any unsold ducks will be available. However we recommend purchasing your duck early to avoid disappointment.

Note: when purchasing a duck, you’ll be given a ticket number which corresponds to your duck number. These are plastic ducks, not real ducks. We collect every duck at the end of the race, ready to use again the next year.

Our people

Educator: Graeme Brent

My name is Graeme Brent. I have very recently moved to Blenheim with my wife and two boys. We have come from Parua Bay in Whangarei Heads, Northland.

We really enjoy getting out and about to beaches and on the boat fishing and diving. We are very involved in a range of sports and value staying fit and healthy.

I was a Health, Physical Education and Outdoor Education teacher for many years before working at a special needs school. Most recently I have been a classroom teacher at a primary school.

I look forward to working with Marlborough students giving them the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in life.

Our Trustees

Harold Club

Harold Club is an excellent way individuals can support our community Trust. During the year we run social functions for the Harold Club with guest speakers. These are opportunities to gather with other supporters of the Trust. $200 for an individual membership; $300 for group membership.
