Coastal Otago

Since 1996, Life Education Trust Coastal Otago has been successfully delivering the Life Education programme to many children throughout the local area.

In 2019 the Trust reached over 5,639 children throughout 47 Coastal Otago schools.

In 2020, post COVID19 lockdown we are delighted that our local schools have confirmed their ongoing commitment to our programme. We are continuing our scheduled delivery.

Dunedin to Oamaru, through to Omarama, Oamaru, Macraes, Palmerston, Port Chalmers, Sawyers Bay, Otago Peninsula and all schools in between.

Life Education Trust nationally is the largest external health educator for school children in NZ. Our non-profit organization is non government funded and totally reliant on grants, donations and fundraising to continue to deliver this valuable programme via our mobile classroom. A special shout out to Dynes Transport, Dunedin and RBM Driver Training, Oamaru who assist with the logistics etc  in moving the mobile educational trailer from site to site throughout the year. We could not do this without you!

Our Educator

Maria Sinclair

Maria studied Primary Teaching at the Dunedin Teacher’s College and taught in Dunedin and South Otago for 13 years. She loves teaching and always  feels privileged to be part of her students learning journey.

Maria remembers meeting Harold when she was a beginner teacher and thinking ‘Wow, he’s amazing.  I bet that it’s fun to teach with Harold!”

She feels that working with Harold is fantastic. Every day is different and a new adventure. Together Maria and Harold visit schools in Dunedin, North Otago and the Waitaki Valley sharing the positive messages of Life Education with the wonderful students and teachers in our region.
