Since 1996, Life Education Trust Coastal Otago has been successfully delivering the Life Education Healthy Harold Programme across the region. Our unique mobile classroom combines technology, our specialist Educator, and Harold the Giraffe to offer an immersive learning experience for ākonga and kaiako. Linked to the New Zealand Health Curriculum, Healthy Harold provides empowering, take-home messages that build resilience, emotional and physical wellbeing, identity, and smart decision making, - giving children the confidence and skills to thrive now, and into the future.
Being the largest national external health educator for tamariki in New Zealand, the Life Education Trust is a not-for-profit, charitable organisation. We receive no government funding and are totally reliant on grants, donations, and fundraising to continue to deliver this valuable programme via our mobile classroom. The Life Education Trust Coastal Otago is run by a very small group of volunteers and 100% of your monetary contributions go to meeting our teacher salary and operating costs. If you wish to contribute, please click the donation button below, we would be extremely grateful for any support received.
Dunedin to Oamaru, through to Omarama, Oamaru, Macraes, Palmerston, Port Chalmers, Sawyers Bay, Otago Peninsula and all schools in between.
